The much anticipated 0.7 Meter Alumni Telescope arrived at SPS during the summer of 2004.

The SPS Astronomy Program and the 0.7 Meter Alumni Telescope were featured in both the Concord Monitor and SPS Today in late 2004.

Advanced Astronomy students and the two instructors, Mr. Pacelli and Dr. McCarthy worked with the telescope, and attempted to program the telescope during the fall term.  Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties in the telescope’s tracking system, it has been off line for most of the winter term, and will remain so until it is serviced mid-March.
